Cory and Shawn, Cory and Topanga, Cory and Shawn and Topanga…man I love this show. I can’t find the scene where Cory and Shawn say this together, BUT I did find Cory’s first utterance of the phrase. This show had such a great dynamic between best friends and girlfriends — though the Shawn almost-stops-the-wedding stuff was a bit much. No matter how inconsistent they were with the beginning of this series, Cory and Topanga were meant to be together dangit! (Seriously, go dig up the plot holes and weird history rewrites in this show, there were a ton.)
Anyway, speaking of nostalgia-fests (which TGIF posts often lead to), I learned some things about one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time today. Apparently they’ve decided to resurrect the Three Men and a Baby series (!!!) by reuniting all 3 guys (Tom Selleck! Ted Danson! Steve Guttenberg!!) for a potential sequel to be called Three Men and a Bride. I’m all for seeing Steve Guttenberg back on screen again, but I can’t quite decide if I’m elated or appalled.
I love love LOVE these movies, so the thought of a reunion is AMAZING. I’m envisioning equal parts Three Men and a Baby and Father of the Bride. However, I’m going to be really sad if they ruin them, and I have to go around pretending the 3rd one just didn’t happen, like Indiana Jones fans have to do now that Indy #4 reared its ugly head many years later. Granted, so far they’ve only checked actor availability and gone off to write a script, so if the script is awful it might not happen (or they could ask me to write it??) But still. Really though, if Disney wanted me to write this, I totally would. Really. …Please?
Here’s quick soundbite from an interview Tom Selleck did with MTV news while promoting that new atrocity film he’s in Killers. Please note the fact that Selleck wants the mural to return! The best part of the apartment! Does it cover the entire apartment now?? So that’s a plus.
And since it’s Friday, below is the scene I was talking about from Boy Meets World.
