Full Disclosure, I actually didn’t have time to watch this last night, and just now got to it. Apparently American Idol ran late AGAIN, but Hulu doesn’t cut you off when American Idol is stupid (and I’ve changed my DVR to add 5 minutes just in case) so I shouldn’t have that problem anymore.
The episode felt a little bit off — I think it had to do with the doom-and-gloom music they played because of everyone’s reputation problems. But I still really enjoyed it – there were a ton of good moments. Plus, bad 80s music is pretty much the best 80s music.
Reactions and Favorite Moments/Quotes from Bad Reputation:
*NO JESSE ST. JAMES! NOOOOO. He had a really good speech about their reputations and what it all really means, but I’m surprisingly incredibly upset that they’re breaking up. My favorite song of the night came out of it though: Total Eclipse of the Heart (I think this is also just my favorite song out of all of them in their non-Glee version too)
*I’m surprised no one assumed Sue created and posted the “Glist” as retaliation for the first Physical video, since she admitted in the principal’s office that she did a similar thing last year. Props to Glee for making it not ACTUALLY be her though. Though Puck had a pretty good argument about how if it’d been him, he would’ve put his name first, so it retrospect it kind of took them a while to pin it on Quinn. Sad that Tina, Artie, Kurt and Mercedes aren’t even on the list.
* Puck was back in the plot-line with a vengeance — I think he had the most best-lines-of-the-night:
“I’m a delinquent sure – I like beating people up and setting things on fire. But I’m not a liar.”
“I go to school and I say be cool Puck, be nice, but by second period…”
I loved the moments of Rachel and Puck sort of reunited. Also, Puck wearing the Phantom mask was great. I feel bad for Puck though — I wish people would maybe believe him once in a while. He’s at least trying to be less of a man-whore delinquent.
Speaking of man-whores:
*”You’re a really good teacher, even if everyone is calling you a manwhore.” Quinn is great – I’ve missed her having lines/much of a plot the past few episodes. Since when did she decide on adoption though? Did I miss that somewhere?
*Why is Mr. Shue rapping again? He must really love 80s/90s rap because he sings it all the time on this show.
*I kind of love Rachel’s sailboat (and later, owl) sweater – though the knee socks with it are a bit much. Best costumes of the night though? Hammer pants FTW.
*Great Sue Moments of the Night:
I love Sue and her sister. Seeing the nice side of her is a good change from her typical total-crazy. It’s adorable that she’s donating her profits from the Physical video to the nursing home.
“Again, again, again, again, again!” — the Glee kids not on the Glist (and Brittany) after seeing the new Physical music video
*I’m amazed that Emma finally got a backbone, thanks to Sue of all people. Hooray for character development!
* “Rachel Barry is going to become musically promiscuous” hahaha, Rachel.
* “Why does everyone assume I’m angry all the time? It’s called being sassy Mr. Shue” — Mercedes
*I felt bad for the guys a little bit, but Rachel’s video was pretty awesome. Her scared-then-happy eyes at the “Fin” were kinda creepy though.
* And finally, The Best Brittany Quips of the Night:
“I’ve been here since first period. I have a cold and I took all my medicine at once and I can’t figure out how to leave. Also, I can’t figure out how I made 4th in the Glist – I made out with like, everyone in this school. Girls, boys, Mr. Kinney the janitor. I need to do something to get in the top 3.”
“I don’t know how to work a computer…”
