Oh, Kimmy and her witty put-downs of Miss DJ Tanner. I think the Codeman was obviously watching Full House when thinking up nicknames, based on my previous post HERE.
So what I intended to be a TGIF post has become a TGI…still the weekend for a few more hours?? I had a very busy Friday, and was under the weather a bit, so sorry for the delay!
You would think that since Full House still plays at least 3 times a day on various channels that I would be able to easily find a clip of the offensive geek-burger nickname but no such luck. Obviously if I want to re-live some classic Full House-ness (Uncle Jesse and that HAIR. omg.) I will have to stalk it out on tv OR buy the complete series, which is housed in this adorable little case:
It’s just like the opening sequence!
I haven’t really watched any good TGIF classics in a while, but I did run across this when I was browsing youtube the other day.
Does anyone else remember The Torkelsons, or it’s sequel/spin-off/show they pretended was the same show, even though they mysteriously lost two siblings and changed the title, Almost Home? The Torkelsons was about a family in small town Oklahoma trying to get by, and in Almost Home (most of) the family went to a big city so that Millicent (the mom) could be a nanny to 2 bratty kids and eventually romance the dad, a la The Nanny.
I LOVED this era of Disney Channel tv shows. And it had a young Brittany Murphy, during the Almost Home seasons!
Almost Home also starred Jason Marsden, who was on pretty much every TGIF/Disney show of the time and now does a lot of cartoon voices. He was Max Goof in A Goofy Movie!!
The episode I embedded (thanks youtuber mandygirl777 for finding these!) is pretty much my favorite, where Dorothy Jane is Juliet in her school’s Oklahoma-updated-version of Romeo and Juliet.
It holds up pretty well, if you ask me.
In fact, I think I’m going to go obsess over some more Jason Marsden shows now…
